This University has approximately 5 lacs students. It has 215 faculty members and 500 non-teaching staff and 25 Departments. It was old University where I completely revamped the examination system and computerized it. This has enabled the University to declare the results in time. This Purvanchal region is backward and students are encouraged to enroll through Distance Education mode of IGNOU & Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Allahabad rigoursly. Every year, we trained more than 1 lac students through distance learning.

All Management issues like training of staff, stream lining of administration and making administratively more proactive towards students. During tenure faculties where encouraged to take various projects and conduct better research.

In his second tenure as Vice-Chancellor of Doctor Harisingh Gour Central University, Sagar (M.P.) which is presently in hand. This University has total strength of 3 lacs students. Also, the University is recognized by Department of Science & Technology for special grant based on Scopus data and placed 30th in order.

It has 177 affiliated colleges. The major task was undertaken during my tenure to make this University with Modern facilities available for scientific research and innovative teaching with Choice Based Credit System (CBSE). The University upgraded to the Central Status on 15th January 2009. All issues pertaining to transition from the State the Central has been resolved in light of the provisions given in the Act. It was the most difficult and challenging job for me.

Now the University plans to start new courses by next academic session such as nano-technology and nano-biotechnology, nano-medicine, engineering, biochemistry, cell biology, Art and design and other developmental courses in the area of National Security and Disaster Management. Most of the courses are proposed as Dual Degree Programmes. Eight new courses have been approved to cater the new emerging career challenges.

There is a mandate of distance education in the Act. 2009. Accordingly 1.3 lakh students are enrolled in distance education mode including IGNOU & M.P. Bhoj Open University. He has transformed the cartographically lines of Distance Education and developed Institute of Distance Education as a e-learning campus. Number of several job-oriented vocational courses have been introduced such as B.Lib., M.Lib., BJC, MJC, Forensic Science etc. For contact classes for the said courses many eminent Professors are invited to deliver their lectures.

The Institute of Distance Education of the University runs various self-financing and correspondence courses. As a commitment towards the upliftment of the weaker section of the society, the University has strengthened the Remedial Coaching Centre (a scheme of UGC).
